Weight Management Workshop

 

The Vanderbilt Dayani Center offers 20-week Weight Management Workshops for adults, designed to help participants make healthy lifestyle changes that promote gradual weight loss. 

Each Weight Management Workshop is taught by a team that includes an exercise physiologist, a registered dietitian, and a clinical health psychologist.

  • Fitting Physical Activity Into a Busy Day
  • Making Exercise More Enjoyable
  • Increasing Your Motivation for Healthy Changes
  • Balancing Fats, Carbohydrates, & Protein


 Additional Workshop Benefits:

  • Free 1-hour orientation session with no obligation to enroll in the workshop
  • 20 weeks of group sessions centered around learning how to incorporate healthy eating, physical activity, and motivation to create a lifestyle
  • Digital pedometer, computerized step tracking program, walking group, exercise buddy program, and private optional weekly weigh-ins.


Medical Clearance Is Required For This Workshop

All individuals entering this program will be required to get the approval of their physician or nurse practitioner in order to participate. We have some very specific paperwork that we will need you and your physician/nurse practitioner to complete and this issue will be described in full at the free orientation. Please note that the psychology topics covered in this workshop focus primarily on motivation and adherence.
