Clinical Trials

The Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center has been designated by the National Cancer Institute as one of 39 leading Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States. As such, some of the top researchers in the world are conducting clinical trials at Vanderbilt-Ingram to evaluate new cancer drugs and treatments.

For many cancer patients, a clinical trial may be the best treatment option, and Vanderbilt-Ingram encourages everyone facing a cancer diagnosis to learn more about them and to discuss the possibility of participating in a clinical trial with his or her physician. Clinical trials are a critical step in the development and advancement of new cancer treatments.

Vanderbilt-Ingram researchers are engaged in about 200 such trials of emerging therapies and innovative procedures at any one time. Many of these clinical trials are available to patients in their local communities through members of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s Affiliate Network (VICCAN) in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.
